Candle Care
The first time you burn our candles, it’s important to allow it to burn for 2-3 hours to create a full “melt pool”. This means the melted wax reaches all the way to the edge of the container.
This ensures a clean, even burn all the way down. If the first burn is too short the candle will only burn down the middle, creating a tunnel.
After every burn (before relighting your candle), simply pinch off any split portion of the wood wick gently between two fingers. It might seem like the wick is too short but don’t worry, you actually need a shorter wick (1/8″ appropriately) for a wooden wick to burn properly. If it seems like it’s not getting a strong enough flame, don’t be tempted to pour out melted wax, the wax is the fuel that the wick is using to burn. Instead, blow the candle out, attempt to trim the wick again and relight it.
