Love for the South Wedge

We really are in a great neighborhood.  I often glance out the window from my desk at the counter and I get to see the great energy, diversity and culture going on right on in our part of town called the South Wedge.  My favorite is seeing the “before” and “after” on the many who visit Surface Salon – everyone looks freshened right up and they have a lot of clients over there!  The sign of things being done right.
There are incredible things happening in all the wonderful places in “the wedge” all the time.  Artisan chocolate and ice cream, yoga that is inclusive by any interpretation of the word, locally made gifts supporting entrepreneurs and artists, classes to teach you a new skill, perfect martinis, an amazing co-op grocery store, dinner to suit your every craving AND MORE!  You can get insurance, sandwiches, clothing, A GORGEOUS SOFA – that’s all just from what I can see from where I sit!  Do you know what it’s like looking at a shop that makes artisan ice cream all day?!  (torture).  I am lucky to take a “Marilla’s break” to walk 4 doors down and fill my jars with an ever-growing list of things that results in less single-use wasted plastic in my home.
We are always glad to see people out and about on South Ave.   I especially love when someone makes a visit when they are out for their daily walk.  We feel like such a part of this community knowing that many of our customers are our neighbors.  And many more are within a few miles.  Rochester continues to be very tight-knit, and we strive to be another trusted place where all can visit to fulfill the needs of their homes.
