art at axom home

At Axom Home we are committed to supporting and promoting the visual arts scene in Rochester. Our goal is to make art accessible to the community by featuring fine art from regional & local artists in our dedicated space within Axom Home throughout the year.

This support results in 100% of our net proceeds from art sales going directly to the artist.

More about the Artist

Penny  Santy

Artist Statement

Paint has a language that expresses poetically on Penny Santy’s canvases. Her work is not only about seeing, but
about creating a perception so that it communicates feeling. Each piece holds some mystery that uses the artist’s
experience as a gateway to begin a conversation. Santy expresses the importance of human to human or human to
nature connections in her work, and reference to movement and place easily make a spiritual connection for people.
Santy earned her BFA from Syracuse University where she built her love of working in oils and charcoal. With 38
years experience, her work is award winning with the most recent being the March 2024 Finalist in the Boldbrush
art contest juried by Kathie Odom, and the 2022 Dorothy Bostwick Campbell Memorial Prize at the Cooperstown Art
Association national juried show. She exhibits regularly across the northeast including at Dacia Gallery, New York
City; Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, NY; Arnot Art Museum, Elmira, NY; a regular exhibitor at Art Haus, Syracuse,
NY, and now at the Gallery at Axom Home, Rochester, NY. Her work has been published in 1340 Art magazine,
April 2018, and Stone Canoe Number 18.

living with art

Our intention is to broaden the exposure of art to people who wouldn’t otherwise go to a traditional art gallery.  This experience helps to inform the idea of living with art.  Showing you, our visitor, how the presence of art transforms everyday living into a richer experience.  We hope that our creative environment inspires you in your own home.

Exploring the connection between Fine Art and Interior Design makes us unique.  We celebrate the vibrant energy that emerges when visual art and interior design intersect.  With each exhibition we intentionally mix artwork with our modern upholstery, carefully crafted case goods, and accessories to create inspiring room vignettes with a distinctive aesthetic.
